Mr. Ma Yan, General Manager of Ningbo Huake Run Co., Ltd., delivered the opening address, providing a comprehensive overview of the company’s profile, its development journey, its technological strengths, and its vision for the future. Huake Run is the first domestic manufacturer to obtain regulatory approval for the marketing of angled vertebral augmentation devices in both China and the European Union. As a leader in angled vertebral augmentation technology, its products have consistently earned high praise from experts and scholars at home and abroad for their outstanding clinical performance. To date, the company has filed nearly 100 patent applications domestically and internationally, with its products now sold across all 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government in China. In 2021, a strategic partnership with Hillhouse Capital will inject strong momentum into Huake Run, accelerating the company’s rapid growth and enabling it to pursue a comprehensive product portfolio spanning three core segments—vertebral augmentation devices, spinal internal fixation systems, and sports medicine solutions—as well as surgical robotics, thereby achieving dual-driven growth through the integration of consumables and medical devices. The company’s team is committed to continuous innovation and integration, with the goal of transforming Huake Run into a robotic-enabled, minimally invasive orthopedic platform enterprise.

A major new product launch event was held, during which Professors Zhou Yue, Liu Xiaoguang, Liu Hongjian, Yin Heping, Zhou Yingjie, and Meng Bin unveiled the new products. The experts then jointly pressed their handprints on the “Angled Vertebral Kyphoplasty Instrument” and “Acrylic Resin Bone Cement,” officially marking the nationwide launch of these products.

HuaKeRun’s angled vertebral kyphoplasty device is China’s first domestically developed, single-sided percutaneous puncture–based angled vertebral kyphoplasty product. It offers numerous advantages, including reduced surgical trauma, shorter procedure times, alleviated patient discomfort, lower rates of postoperative complications, restoration of vertebral height, and correction of kyphotic deformity, thereby filling a critical gap in the domestic market for angled vertebral kyphoplasty. The acrylic resin bone cement is among the first spinal-specific bone cements in China to obtain NMPA medical device registration approval; through continuous experimental validation, HuaKeRun’s R&D team has ensured that it exhibits excellent handling properties and biocompatibility, as well as outstanding stability and cost-effectiveness. The successful launch of these two new products marks a significant enhancement and expansion of HuaKeRun’s product portfolio in the field of vertebral augmentation.

Professor Zhou Yue and Professor Liu Xiaoguang co-chaired the Symposium on the Angled Vertebroplasty Technique. Professor Liu Hongjian delivered a lecture titled “Research and Clinical Application of Angled Kyphoplasty,” systematically examining the technique from its research background and conceptual framework, through clinical cases, surgical procedures and key technical points, to the overall research approach. By seamlessly integrating theory with practice, he provided a comprehensive analysis that highlighted the advantages and distinctive features of angled kyphoplasty. Professor Zhou Yingjie then shared insights on “Two Major Advances in Unilateral Approach Vertebroplasty.” Drawing on classic clinical cases, Professor Zhou analyzed and elaborated on the benefits of unilateral puncture: PCVP (the angled vertebroplasty technique) marked the first breakthrough in achieving bilateral cement distribution through a single-sided approach; meanwhile, the use of an angled balloon further enhanced PCVP, representing a second major leap—from the “malposition fixation” inherent in conventional PVP to true kyphoplasty. Its user-friendly design and streamlined procedural steps not only shorten operative time but also reduce surgical complexity. The presentations by these two experts were both engaging and accessible, earning enthusiastic applause and creating a lively, dynamic atmosphere at the conference.

The successful convening of the “Kerun China: Pioneering the Future with Curved Angled Vertebroplasty Technology” Symposium and the Launch Event for Kerun’s New Products was warmly supported by numerous experts and professors, filling the venue with distinguished guests. The event was broadcast live in its entirety by Healthy Henan, with simultaneous coverage on six online platforms—including Good Medical Practice, Orthopedics Online, Dahe Daily, and Henan Health Network—thereby attracting extensive attention from spinal surgeons across the country. Upholding the mission of “Leading with Cutting-Edge Technology, Building Chinese Quality,” Kerun is committed to innovating minimally invasive orthopedic techniques, relentlessly pursuing innovation and excellence, providing patients and physicians with more outstanding minimally invasive surgical solutions, and contributing its part to the cause of national health care.
